In our latest episode, we discuss the 1989 comedy classic Weekend at Bernie’s. This humorous farce was directed by Ted Kotcheff and written by Robert Klane. It stars Andrew McCarthy and Jonathan Silverman as two young insurance professionals who go to a weekend getaway at the beach house of their very “lively” boss, Bernie Lomax. The film is a loose adaptation of the 1959 Brazilian novella The Two Deaths of Quincas Wateryell, which was then translated into English under the title The Double Death of Quincas Water-Bray.
